This week looked a little different at Goodwin PC.
Apparently we went viral! Who knew Instagram would love seeing Jordan fake push Jacco into a cubicle so much? We’ll take it. You can watch it here! It’s fun seeing people enjoy a glimpse of the personalities behind the support tickets.
Of course, the real wins are always the work we do for our clients.
As a managed IT services provider supporting businesses across Memphis and the Mid-South, most weeks for our team involve keeping systems secure, solving problems quickly, and helping people stay productive.
Here are a few of our favorite wins from the week.
Client Wins
Dark Web Monitoring Prevents Compromised Password
Our team received an alert that a password associated with a client’s domain had appeared in a compromised credential list. Through our dark web monitoring tools for managed clients, we were able to catch the issue quickly.
We immediately contacted the user and had them reset their password to secure the account.
It’s a small step that can prevent much larger problems.
Technology Setup for a New Medical Clinic Office
We helped prepare and deploy technology for a medical clinic opening a new office location.
Our team organized the hardware, created the site in our system so our tools could be deployed, and prepared the equipment for installation.
At the office, we installed the rack, battery backup, router, and monitors, configured the firewall, and set up the wireless network so everything would be ready for staff on day one.
New Workstation Setup and Hardware Diagnosis
During a site visit, our team configured a new workstation for a user by creating their account, installing updates, configuring printers, and mapping network drives.
Once everything was set up, the user confirmed the system was working properly.
While we were there, we were also asked to check another workstation that had been crashing randomly. After troubleshooting, we determined the hard drive was beginning to fail and recommended replacing the system.
Website Security Issue Resolved
A client contacted us after seeing a security warning when visiting their website.
After investigating, we found the site’s SSL certificate had expired. While we don’t manage the website, we stepped in to help identify the issue and coordinate with the website provider.
Once the updated certificate was installed, we confirmed the site was secure again and verified everything was working properly.
